We have been tried to spread Special Olympics movement in Japan while receiving the support from charity runner.

Special Olympics (SO) is the world’s largest sports organization for people with intellectual disabilities that provides year-round sports training and athletic competition. SO is a nonprofit organization and its activities are supported by volunteers and donations. Athletes are children and adults with intellectual disabilities from all around the world.

Special Olympics Nippon Foundation (SON) is the headquarter office in Japan under the jurisdiction of SO. SON is officially accredited by SO as an authentic organization which operates
SO training and competition programs within Japan.

How your donations
will be used
“The 7th Special Olympics Nippon Winter National Games in Hokkaido 2020” will be held at Hokkaido in February, 2020. The National Game 2020 will be implemented for selecting Japanese Delegation for the Winter World Games 2021 in Sweden, and approximately more than 600 athletes are expected to take part in the National Games.
The donation obtained from Tokyo Marathon 2020 Charity will be mainly used for not only “The 7th Special Olympics Nippon Winter National Games in Hokkaido 2020”, but our activities on a daily basis for those with intellectual disabilities.
An Active Charity program refers to efforts
by recipient program organizations operating charity programs
to independently secure donations through
unique promotions or programs aimed at runners.
ABOUT
ACTIVE CHARITY
For those that donate more than a certain amount designated
by the specific organization, an invitation is extended to participate
in the Tokyo Marathon as a charity runner as a way to offer exposure
for the organization’s charitable activities
